Annual Report for the Academic year 2024-25

The academic year 2024-2025 has been a remarkable journey at our school, filled with a wide range of activities, workshops, and celebrations aimed at fostering the holistic development of our students. From career counseling sessions and personality development workshops to cultural programs and significant awareness campaigns, the school has continually strived to offer a well-rounded experience to its students. The year has also been marked by exceptional achievements in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities, as well as active participation in national and global observances. This report highlights the key events and milestones that have shaped the academic and co-curricular landscape of our school during this period.

In addition to our regular academic curriculum, we have focused on nurturing the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our students through various awareness programs, competitions, and skill-building activities. This commitment has ensured that our students not only excel in their studies but also grow into responsible, well-rounded individuals ready to face the challenges of the future.

Career Counseling and Various School Activities

On December 22, 2023, a career counseling session was held at the school, led by CA Mr. Amit Mohan. He shared valuable insights on how to prepare for and succeed in competitive exams for the commerce stream. He also introduced various career paths, such as CA, ICWA, CS, Law, BBA, and MBA, offering guidance on which course might suit different aspirations.

It is also worth mentioning that our school regularly organizes a range of workshops and counseling sessions to support students’ personal development. In addition to workshops led by external experts, our school authorities conduct monthly sessions focused on topics like behavior, adolescence, personal hygiene, decision-making, and mental resilience. These initiatives aim to foster well-rounded personalities in our students.

In the spirit of national celebrations, Republic Day was observed on January 26, 2024, with speeches, poems, and a variety of cultural programs organized by the school.

Key Events and Celebrations Throughout the Year
February 2024:
The school hosted an NCC drill skill test for the “A” Certificate Examination. Additionally, an NCC rally on the theme “Save Water, Save Earth” was conducted. Vasant Panchami was also celebrated with great enthusiasm on February 14.

March 2024:
As the academic year progressed, board exams and internal assessments took place, with results announced before the new session began on April 9.

April 2024:
Several awareness programs were held, including World Autism Day (April 2) with a focus on empowering the autistic voice, and World Health Day (April 12) with the theme “My Health, My Right.” On April 15, World Hemophilia Day was observed with the theme “Equitable Access for All.”

Earth Day was celebrated on April 22 with tree plantation drives, speeches, elocution, and presentations on global warming. On April 25, World Malaria Day was marked with a theme of “Accelerating the Fight Against Malaria.”

A drawing competition took place on April 26, with participants from Classes V to XII. Topics ranged from “I Love My Planet” to “Don’t Start Smoking, Be Smart.”

On April 28, a career counseling session for defense aspirants was conducted by Col. Ajay Verma (Retd.), focusing on preparations for the NDA Exam.

May 2024:
Labour Day was celebrated on May 1, with students expressing gratitude to school staff through roses, cards, and gifts. English and Hindi Calligraphy competitions were organized on May 6 and 7, respectively, with over a hundred students felicitated. On May 11, an inter-school speech presentation under the SAHODAYA SCHOOL COMPLEX saw participation from over 20 reputed schools in Dehradun and surrounding districts.

The school also celebrated Mother’s Day before the second Sunday of May, with special programs dedicated to mothers. The CBSE Board Results for Class 10 and 12 were announced, with Anika Verma and Divit Kumar Shukla (Class 10) scoring 97%, and Akanksha Chamoli (Class 12) also securing 97%.

June 2024:
International Yoga Day on June 21 was observed with a series of Yoga Asan displays by students.

July 2024:
Under the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” initiative, students participated in various activities to learn about the culture, language, and traditions of Puducherry. The school also observed International Day Against Drug Abuse on July 10 and organized a drawing competition on Cyber Safety for classes 6-8.

Harela Festival, a festival native to Uttarakhand, was celebrated on July 15 with a tree plantation drive. On July 22, a movie on Mangrove Forests was shown to students, educating them on the importance of mangrove trees in preserving ecosystems.

On July 29, International Tiger Day was observed with a poster-making competition on the theme “Save Tigers, Save Wildlife.”

August 2024:
The school organized a Hindi Debate for classes 6-8 and an English Debate for classes 9-12. A series of Olympiads and quizzes in subjects like SST, Science, and GK were conducted to help students prepare for competitive exams.

Independence Day was celebrated with speeches, songs, dances, and poem recitations on August 15. From August 22 to 27, students attended a science project presentation organized by DAV School on solar cells, which was highly appreciated.

September 2024:
Teachers’ Day was celebrated on September 5 with dance, songs, and a skit dedicated to teachers. From September 4 to 14, Hindi Pakhwada and Swachhata Pakhwada activities took place, featuring cultural performances and cleanliness initiatives.

On September 20, the Happiness Club organized stress-relief activities for students preparing for exams.

October 2024:
The school marked Dussehra on October 10, celebrating the victory of good over evil. On October 15, Class 8D presented a poem on Cyber Security to raise awareness about online safety.

Various Olympiads and quizzes, including Lampara Science Quiz and Maths Quiz, were held throughout the month, and students participated in a variety of activities related to Diwali celebrations from October 26 to 30, including rangoli and diya decoration contests.

November 2024:
On November 9, an English Debate for Classes 6-8 was conducted on the topics of academic monitoring by parents and the responsibility of teachers in teaching discipline. The month also saw several sports and extracurricular achievements.

Sports Achievements
In the 2024-25 session, our students represented the school in zonal, state, and national-level competitions across different states, winning several medals in various sports:

Samridhi Juyal: Silver at Doon Cup, Bronze at CBSE Zonal
Poornima: Gold in Taekwondo at Doon Cup
Anushka Rawat: Silver at SGFI, Gold at CBSE Nationals
Divyanshi: Bronze in Taekwondo at CBSE Nationals
Saransh Bahukhandi: Bronze at CBSE Nationals, Silver at State Championship
Sakshi Dabola: Gold in Boxing at Youth District and CBSE Zonal
Anshul Sati: Gold in Chess at SFA
Piyush Negi & Akshat: Bronze in Arm Wrestling
We also witnessed impressive performances from students in various other events.
